Along the Sentiero Natura (Nature Trail), Roberto will take you to the ancient drying kiln, the only one still in use inside the marronete. After discovering how it works, you will light the “walking fire” together, which can last even more than a day without being stoked. Then you will pass through a special geological site to arrive at the great patriarchs, centuries-old chestnut trees: there you will learn how the marroneta is run. Back in Castagno, you will enjoy a platter of cold meats and cheeses at the Caffè Falterona.
Route on mountain carriage road, length approx. 1.5 km, low difficulty, hiking shoes preferable
